Decadent little notebook

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today.  Decadence to me means black, white, red, damask and classy. I have a simple little notebook out of scrap paper.  Stamp the Vintage Wallpaper and Emboss with the Black Ebony powder.  Hold you scrap paper together with some binder clips and add a couple layers of glue to the edges so that they all are held in place.  Once the glue is dry you can adhere to the inside, I used Super Tape from ThermOWeb.  To decorate the cover I used a coffee filter for my ruffle with some ribbons layered on top.  For the flower center I used Cable Car red with just a little sprinkle of the Kalahari Gold glitter and adhered to the center. Thank you so much for looking at my project today I hope you check back often for more inspiring ideas and participate in the monthly challenge.

Black & White Decadence

Hello, Sherrie here!!

Today I am going to share with you a beautiful and decadent wall hanging that I made of our little dog Max (and now I need to get busy making another of our larger dog Reba!)

My daughter actually took this picture for an assignment in her photography class a couple years ago and I just fell in love with it. She happened to be over at the house just taking random shots and managed to capture this keeper! It has taken me a couple years to figure out what I wanted to do with it but was waiting for the perfect idea to hit me.

Recently my DH and I have been going to a lot of auctions and I have started picking up a lot of old picture frames. Some are very plain and some are very fancy. For this project I choose a very plain wooden frame because I was going to just cover it up. I started by covering it with a couple of layers of black paint. I then, very carefully, using the WOW! Embossing Pen and embossed the inner edge with WOW! Embossing Powder in Black Ebony Regul…

Decadence - The Breakdown of Morality

Hi Folks

For this month's theme - Decadence - Iv'e created a canvas with a sad message - "The Breakdown of Morality". A fun to do project although rather bleak in it's message.

The canvas was made by painting it with black acrylic paint then crackle glaze then painting over the top with white.
Once crackled, I stamped the French Music stamp in patches to reflect the decadent style ie, deterioration etc., with clear embossing powder and added Primary Ebony Super Fine powder.
I also randomly stamped the Ebony powder along with Pearl Gold Sparkle around the edges of the canvas.

I added a picture from a Topper of a lady with shotgun and added some chain to the rifle shaft to add a bit of glitz.

I used a Butterfly outline stamp and Ebony Super Fine Powder for the main body and stamped onto Green cardstock then I added the centre of the Butterfly using Violet and Flourescent Tickled Pink powders.
The letters were added to the canvas from Alphabet stickers to finish.

Decadence WOW Style

Hi Everyone
Sue Here

This month at WOW HQ is decadence:

dec•a•dence 1. A process, condition, or period of deterioration or decline, as in morals or art; decay. 2. often Decadence A literary movement especially of late 19th-century France and England characterised by refined aestheticism, artifice, and the quest for new sensations .

I have used:
WOW Ebony Embossing powder
WOW Bright White Embossing powder
WOW Paprika Embossing powder
WOW Brass Embossing Powder
WOW Simply Amazing Stamp Set
WOW French Music stamp
Versamark ink

Tim Holtz tag
Personal Impressions - Abstract stamp
Mardi Gras Stamps

I firstly stamped the music stamp with versamark and heat set with bright white embossing powder.  I then inked the tag with distress inks and buffed it up for a resist look.  On a separate piece of card I stamped the cameo and frame, the mask, flags diamond and mardi gras, all with versamark and heat set with ebony black embossing powder.  The mask I then added a touch of brass and paprika emb…

Mail Art

Hi there, Doris from Cheap Psychology here. I find it very decadent to send out beautiful envelopes. It is something that is usually forgotten. We spend money on cards and presents but envelopes do not really et our attention.  But what gives more joy than to receive something beautiful in the mail? And the postman will have a much better day too!
I cut my own envelope out of wallpaper lining. That makes them very sturdy and I can apply washes, paints and emboss to my hearts content.

I started with several layers of colour wash and then added embellishments out of my stash.
Then I finished each envelope off by adding embossing powders which I  painted on with an embossing pain

The possibilities are of course endless. You can up-cycle old envelopes, use cheap office envelopes, make your own with magazine or newspaper pages. Embossing certainly gives it the glam factor! I could not imagine anybody not wanting to receive this kind of envelope.

Make somebodies day!!!!!

Decadent Envelope with Faux Wax Seal

I, to be honest, was struggling a little with this month's theme of 'Decadence' - and then my thoughts some how turned to writing letters. The oft ignored envelope then became my focus of attention and what's more decadent than a wax seal on a hand-written missive?

I've used the WOW! Vintage Wallpaper clear stamp with Versamark clear embossing ink and WOW! White Pearl to put the  border on the side of the envelope front and across the flap on the back. The clear stamp allows you to more or less exactly line up the pattern on the back, so don't be afraid to stamp each half and then powder over both sides at the same time. I've handwritten the wording with the WOW! Embossing Pen (tracing from a printout I popped into the envelope) before embossing with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich.

For the seal, I've done a few steps for your info:

Firstly, I took a ball of self-hardening air dry clay and pressed the end of a wide-barrel marker pen into the end to create the d…

Backgrounds with Ultra Shimmer & Pearl Powders

Today I wanted to share a couple of background techniques that I love. The first one uses a mix of the beautiful Pearl powders. The first one uses a mix of the beautiful Pearl powders.

I used the Brocade stamp for this. I inked it really well with Versamark ink and stamped it onto ivory cardstock. I then randomly sprinkled the different colors of the Pearl powders and embossed. I used Violet, Blue, Green, Red and Orange.

It's hard to see on the photo, but I tried to get an angle where you could see the different colors!!! It looks awesome up close!

Here is the completed card: I used a embossed gold paper background matt for it to show the colors!

I also wanted to share this one that I did for another blog where I used an embossing folder, colored in the sections with markers, inked over the entire image and then embossed the whole thing with Ultra Shimmer powder! This is a really cool look in person!!!

Just wanted to get you thinking on different ways to use the powders on larger …

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to our Decadence month! My new Mixed Media canvas FULL of mediums (gesso, mists, gels, Gelato paints, embossing powders, stencils, stamping) . You name  it- I used it over this page.
But the main point here are those Wycenanka gorgeous chipboards and one TH die . I used totally forgotten unknown  art clip papers here, some industrial mesh and did I already said A LOT OF EMBOSSING POWDERS? I did. Thank you WOW!
