Don’t go breaking my heart

Hi everyone. Emma here with an idea for cards using the triple embossing technique.

I stamped the dotty heart stamp (from the Layered Hearts stamp set) three times onto a playing card. (I like the fact that with the plastic coating, playing cards are slightly tougher for this technique). It doesn’t need to be perfect - I just wanted the rough shape. Cut them out and wipe off any ink that hasn’t dried.

Triple emboss each heart using WOW Fluorescent Blue Regular embossing powder. Whilst the top layer is still hot stamp the dotty heart into each one.

Press the stamped hearts onto the WOW embossing ink pad and then apply Ranger Perfect Pearls powder in Bronze with a brush. Buff off any excess.

Apply PVA glue to some of the dots on the hearts and sprinkle them with WOW Sparkles in Celebration. When they’re dry, brush off any excess.

Cut a mat slightly smaller than your card blank, and run it through an embossing folder. Distress the mat by rubbing over lightly with a brown ink pad. Apply PVA glue around each of the mat edges, and dip them into the same WOW Sparkles.

Stamp LOVE (from Mr Wow’s Wonderful Words stamp set) with the brown ink pad on to a piece of spare card. Trim and then stick everything together.

Voila. I hope you like the cards ... I was originally going to use all three hearts on one large card, but I think they work nicely as the focal point on the mini cards instead. This design could easily be transformed into Christmas cards ... what do you think?
Here's the lovely WOW! products Emma used.

  1. These are very pretty triple embossed hearts Marion and love the little sparkles on the hearts and round the card edges, and the pretty background embossing works well on the kraft card. x
